I ask this question because I think that a home without a mother even a Praying mother, is like a kitchen without a knife. What do you think?
A Mother is needed in all homes, because she will bring calm, peace, joy, respect, spirituality and godliness and much more. God honors mothers and those who long to be mothers like Rebekah, Sarah, Hannah and others. Today in our world, there are many women who are turning to medicine, sperm banks, surrogacy and adoption to help them conceive because of the longing of their heart to bring a child into the world. God bless them. Psalm 127: 3 states that “Children are an heritage of the Lord and as a fruit of her womb it will be her reward? God loves children.
Hannah, was one woman who desired a child but her nemesis Peninnah was the one having the kids. How would you feel if you were in her place? Hannah was so anxious and depressed over this fact, she would not eat and even her husband could not feel her pain as she did. There were names given to women who could or did not have children. The barren woman, the childless woman or the the woman whose womb was dried up. Nasty assumption indeed.
Hannah went into praying mode, pouring out her problem to the God who could change her situation. Hannah did not just want a son for her joy and to alleviate the stigma. She saw the lack of godliness in Israel and told the Lord, “If you grant me a man child, I will give him back to you to serve you in this place. God honored her request and after the child was born and weaned, true to her words and vows, she took the boy to the time of fellowship and handed him over to the Priest Eli and went back home, not sad but glad for she knew that God could be trusted. The young boy grew spiritually and physically, and was one of the true leaders serving God in Israel. People feared him, for when he shows up it was to bring God’s message to the people or to anoint someone to step out in service to God. (1 Samuel 1-3).
Mothers, you are precious as Hannah’s name means- are you a Praying Mom as she, do you know where to find your voice, strength and victories? Let Jesus carry your cares for its the only time you will win. Your problems are like a mountain that only God can level down and allow you to see beyond them clearer and more victorious.
Romans 15: 13 can help you to be a mother of hope now and in the future. Your child’s future belongs to God, so pray more and trust in this God who alone can move or shake mountains, obstacles out of your way. When He does, shout it loud and clear of the miracle He removes in your life. Get acquainted with mothers in the Bible and learn how they overcame their difficulties. It was not with education, money or their societal lifestyle, but it was by praying , believing, and mighty faith in the Lord.
Thanks God for motherhood and if you are one of them, give thanks and pray much for your child or children. God has a plan for each child even before they were born and nothing you can do to change His plan. Psalm 139 reminds us, of this.
The story is told of a young boy who used to cut up things with a scissors any chance he got. His fathers sermon, one Sunday were in pieces because Robby had cut it up in small pieces. His parent had a talk together, Father said , he is going to be a Barber because he used the scissors a lot. The mother said, a doctor. In the end young Robby became a doctor, God had used the inner thought of this boy to become what God intended Not the parents. Trust God with your child’s education and as you pray God will lead and the future will be bright for all of you.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY and may the joys of motherhood be celebrated with joy and thanksgiving to the Lord who smiled on you to make you a mother. Be proud, be strong, be humble, be kind, and most of all be a praying mother.
